Scandinavian Moonlight by My S95

It was winter season during my visit, meaning a longer nighttime than day. Most of the days the moon was also clearly visible even under the sunlight. I think the Canon S95 can take nice photos of the moon, but the focal length is not long enough to get a good resolution.

Still, there are a few points to note with the Canon S95:
  • Use M and P settings and turn off the flash
  • Shot on a tripod with a short self-timer to avoid any shake during shutter release
  • Put your ISO as low as possible
  • Set your aperture at f8.0 to capture all of the details

There's a trick in getting even more details of the moon by combining the effect of a telescope with the long exposure of the Canon S95. I hope to try this soon.

Aperture f4.0 and Shutter 15sec with ISO 80.
A clear moon during middle of the day.
Half moon at Gamla Stan.
