Cambodia Trip - From Another Angle

Most people would hold their cameras in front of their chests or eyes and shoot most of the time. As I'm still exploring into photography, I'm always looking to shoot photos that are 'different'. I found out that one effective way is to change the angle to shoot from. This is always useful regardless of the subject you're shooting, may it be portrait, landscape or macro.

There are a number of differences in terms of composition when you shoot from another angle. For starters, changing the angle that you shoot from will have an impact on the feeling of size of your subject like the tree in the photo below. I was trying to 'magnify' the size of the tree roots with respect to the branches.

Besides that, it can have a real effect upon the light, shade and patterns on the subject. You can see in the picture below that the downward-growing patterns of the tree roots are more pronounced as a result of the angle I shot it from.
